On Saturday I headed back to the gorgeous Chaucer Barn for Donnie and Rose’s wedding day. It was a small intimate day with around 40 guests, the sun shone, the drinks flowed and everyone had a wonderful time.
When we arrived the girls were having their hair and makeup done by the amazing Love Moi Makeup and Gemma Holiday. There were rather a lot of bridesmaids so it was a lovely fun girly morning! I then headed to the guys to shoot Donnie, Keiran and the brides brother Marc getting in to their really sharp navy 3 piece suits.
Rose and Donnie have 3 wonderful children Keiran, Dylan and Megan who all played a huge role in the wedding. Keiran was Donnie’s best man and did the most amazing speech, at only 17 this was as good as (if not better!) than most adult best man speeches I have heard! Dylan did 2 wonderful readings during the ceremony both of which were rather long so pretty impressive as well as looking after the rings! The gorgeous Megan was just a ray of sunshine all day (so much so she has her own sneak peek below!) and had the very important role of being flower girl.
Donnie and Rose opted to have their ceremony in the new outdoor woodland ceremony area at Chaucer. I have never shot a wedding in this part before and it was just glorious, half in the woods, half in the fields with a lovely wooden structure that looks like an open sided log cabin to sign the register. After their ceremony they walked back across the field with a precession of their guests behind them which I just loved!
After their group shots I took Rose, Donnie and the children off for some family shots which is something I just love to do when a couple have children and Chaucer is perfect for the most natural fun shots in the grounds.
They had a fabulous hog roast by Byfords of Holt and a rather yummy dessert table the crowning glory being the most amazing naked cake by the brides mum.
After an outdoor first dance we took them off for a few more couple shots in the golden hour before leaving them and their guests with a pizza van and disco!
Huge thanks to Rose and Donnie for looking after us so well and to their friends and family for making us feel so welcome, I can’t wait to show you the rest in a few weeks time!
