Saturday I was back again at the gorgeous Elms Barn for Alex and Abby’s wedding!
I knew when I met these two that it would be a fun, relaxed and happy day and it really was. Alex is Scottish so lots of his friends and family had made it down and there were rather a lot of gents in Kilts, lucky us!
I met the lovely Abby with all her girls getting ready at the barn and having a fabulous time being pampered with makeup by the talented Melissa Abel. It rained most of the morning but no one cared, they were having such a good time nothing could dampen their spirits and we all believed that the sun would come out!
Abby and Alex have a great group of friends and family who were all so much fun and we had a ball capturing them all getting ready. Late morning I headed over to meet Alex getting ready with his two sons and best men Ross and David. I also met Jack, the little chap below who was Alex’s grandson and that was the start of a firm friendship that lasted all day, in fact he even got a few photos of his own!
Abby’s Dad was a press photographer for much of his life and has so many interesting stories. When he stood up in the only pool of sunlight in the room to get a shot of Alex and Abby signing the register I captured the image below that seemed so poignant of his incredible career and this wonderful day.
As the sun started to set we got my second golden hour of the year and nipped out for some more gorgeous shots of the two of them having a few moments together and enjoying their first sunset as a married couple.
I struggled to pick my favourite 5 as there were so many special moments but for me the shots below were some of the most magical from their day…
Big thanks to Abby and Alex for being so much fun and their friends and family for making us feel so welcome. Also to Heather for assisting and the lovely Ellie and Rich of Videoteers who are a joy to work with as always. Abby and Alex I cannot wait to share the rest in a few weeks time, have an amazing and relaxing honeymoon!
