One of my favourite weddings of 2016 was the lovely Rich and Jenny’s Chaucer Barn wedding.
The forecast was poor but we had everything from big blue skies, thunder clouds to hail and then a magnificent golden hour to finish the day!
When I arrived with the girls in the morning the fabulous Emily from Love Moi Makeup and lovely Tracey from Tracey Ward Hair  were making all the ladies look incredible!  Jenny was worrying a little about the weather as the sun came out, a big black cloud would pass overhead and then it would brighten up again. They had planned for an outdoor ceremony so at Chaucer Barn the chairs are positioned outside or inside an hour or so before the ceremony once they had made their call!
It was decided they they would go for it and the chairs were set up on the lawn ready for an outdoor ceremony. The amazing Jo from Jo Flowers had spent most of the morning creating the most incredible flower arrangements for the wall outside I was so glad they would be seen in all their glory! Before they headed out Jenny walked down the stairs at Chaucer to meet her dad at the bottom, it was an emotional few minutes and there were tears all round. This is so often one of my favourite shots of the day and Jen’s lovely dad Andy looked proud as punch.
As Jenny walked up the aisle the sun was shining and we had blue skies and fluffy white clouds. With an outdoor wedding legally there is part of the ceremony that has to be done inside so me Jenny, Rich and their witnesses headed inside for this part of the day. Back outside they were presented their certificate and announced as husband and wife before they walked down the aisle and we go some gorgeous confetti shots.
They had drinks and canapés on the lawn by the fabulous Alex Chef and we started their group shots between showers and everyone sheltering!
We headed off for their couple shots just before their meal and had the most incredible dark sky and could hear some of the loudest thunder getting closer and closer! Once they sat and the speeches began the heavens opened and the biggest hale stones I have seen in a long time thundered down on the marque with thunder and lightening drowning out the speeches they took a little break before they started again. Alex Chef served the most delicious meal and the best dessert of ice cream sundaes with their wedding cake which I got too, I think my favourite dessert of 2016!
Just before the first dance the sun got low so we headed out for a few golden hour shots and even finished off with a rainbow!
After their first dance the dance floor filled up and I finished with them partying the night away on the dance floor.
I had such an awesome day at this wedding, huge thank you to Jen and Rich for such a lovely day and making me feel like one of the gang. Also a shout out to the best men who gave the best ‘best men’ speech/song I have ever heard. In fact all the speeches were amazing at this wedding!
Here are some of my favourites from their gorgeous day…
