You may remember that for Valentines Day on Facebook I collaborated with the lovely Penny from The Little Lending Company for a lucky couple to win a ‘Woodland Themed Couple Shoot’.
Well our winners were the gorgeous and really sweet Jamie and Emily and we just had the best day! You would never have believed these guys weren’t professional models, they did everything we asked in pretty cold temperatures and look… well, stunning!
We were kindly offered by the owner Caroline the grounds of the amazing Swanton Morley House and Gardens, this incredible venue has recently opened for weddings and seriously you want to check it out, it is beautiful!
The amazing Emily from Love Moi Makeup offered her services along with the fabulous Tracey Ward hair and together they made Emily even more beautiful than she is! Again book these ladies for your wedding/party I cannot tell you how good they are, true professionals and so talented.
Penny from Crown House Flowers came along too and although we didn’t need ‘flowers’ as such created some gorgeous foliage for the tree swing, a wreath for the tipi, general greenery, some pieces for Emily’s hair and my favourite, some little tied bundles of herbs for the rustic picnic set up.
Penny from the Little Lending company brought all her amazing wedding props and set up 5 perfect ‘sets’, a tipi, a campfire (fire built by Caroline!), a rustic picnic, a swing (already at Swanton Morley!) and some amazing lighting by the woodsheds. All of herincredibel items are available to hire for your wedding so pop over and check her amazing business out. All the hard work of sourcing the items done for you and she is the most creative lady ever!
I cannot tell you how much I adore doing these shoots. For me and the other suppliers they are just the most wonderful creative outlet to have some FUN with a license to do whatever we like! It was also great to team up with such talents and meet new suppliers in the wedding industry.
Jamie and Emily are not engaged (one day maybe?!) but the process of an engagement shoot is much the same. Â I can’t stress enough how worthwhile it is to style up your engagement shoot a little, clearly Penny went to town with this one but some of this is a little easier to re-create. If you know someone with a big garden why not ask if you can set up a little camp fire? The blossom will be out soon how about a pink blossom tree, some pink lemonade and a chunky picnic blanket? A giant purple balloon in a Lavender field or a posh picnic at the beach? There are so many ideas to make your shoot personal to you but also create a little more beauty in the images and beyond anything a little more of a ‘story’.
So here are some of my favorites from our gorgeous shoot in the woods, do check out the awesome suppliers below, each will bring this magic to your wedding without a doubt!
