I Do… Steven & Laura, Godwick Great Barn {Favourite Five Moments}

I’m not sure where to even start with this wedding… it was INCREDIBLE and all planned from literally the other side of the world!

Steven and Laura live in Melbourne Australia and I first met them long after they booked when they decided to have an engagement shoot on one of their trips back to the UK. I was abut 6 months pregnant knowing this (and that I was having a little girl) they greeted me in the car park with a beautiful bag in which were two gorgeous baby grows all the way from Oz!

The fun continued from there really and we had the most beautiful shoot finishing with me delivering more engagement shoot images than I have ever delivered! After that shoot Steven and Laura very much felt like friends and I just couldn’t wait to be capturing their day at the stunning Godwick Great Barn.

Roll on 9 months later I have a 6 month old (who is still wearing those baby grows which are our faves as they have zips, so easy!) and the day finally arrived.

I met the girls at the beautiful Godwick Hall getting ready, popping bubbles and having a fabulous time. Laura is one of three girls (and a brother) so her sisters, mum, best friend and sister in law were all there getting ready together and enjoying the morning.  Swaffham Florist provided the flowers and they were incredible!

Down with the super organised boys in the drawing room Steven was looking excited if a little nervous and they all looked so dapper in their check waistcoats, jackets and smart trousers.

I had seen a photo of Laura’s dress back at our first meeting 9 months ago but it didn’t really do it justice. As the stepped into it with the help of her mum she looked so beautiful mine and all the bridesmaids breath were certainly taken away along with her brother in law Neil who was walking her down the aisle.

They had the most gorgeous ceremony and as they headed off for a walk round the church and to visit Stevens Grandparents grave the ushers and I set up the confetti shot to find the confetti had been forgotten and was back at Godwick!  It didn’t matter one bit so we got their family groups done at church before heading back to Godwick to simply do it there, a story that I am sure they will be telling to their grandchildren!

Back at the barn the sun was shining and the guests were enjoying fabulous canapés and drinks in the gardens. The all sat to eat and to save the boys nerves decided to do speeches before their meal. Steven had been pretty nervous about his speech but he was brilliant as where the best man Maz and Laura’s brother in law Neil.

After dinner they had a ‘bake off’ dessert table where their guests had baked cakes (along with a beautiful centre piece cake from Buns of Fun). We didn’t quite get golden hour but we headed out into the fields for a second set of couple shots before heading back to the barn for their first dance!

I honestly could not have had more fun with this guys. They truly felt like friends and I may well take them up on their offer of a visit when we head over to see our other friends in Australia.

I cannot wait to blog their whole wedding but for now here are my favourite five moments…

I also can’t wait to see their video by Vintage Video!
