This was my first wedding of 2011 and I was blessed. Blessed with the most lovely bride and groom and their two gorgeous children; blessed with a stunning venue I had never shot before; blessed with a small party of lovely family and friends and blessed (and I mean really blessed) with the most glorious, sunny day!
Stephen and Alison contacted me after I had shot there gorgeous little girls Christmas play at a local school. They were looking for a photographer for their relaxed and simple wedding at the Norfolk Mead Hotel in North Norfolk. Their plans sounded beautiful and having been together several years with two lovely children to show for it they wanted a real family event with the children a large part of their day.
They did not conform to all the traditions of a wedding day and even saw each other before the ceremony getting ready together in one of the cottages in the grounds but this made the day all the more relaxed. It was not just a celebration of their new married life to come but a celebration of their life together so far with a moving ceremony to cement their story.
Their friends and family gathered for a lunch time ceremony followed by their group shots on the lawn, family shots with the children, couple shots, wedding breakfast and drinks in the hotels relaxed bar to finish. As they had not planned the usual evening reception but instead went to another local pub for more drinks with some of their guests I agreed to do a short day package and left them to enjoy their first evening together as man and wife without my camera!
I loved capturing such a moving day in this families lives and what a perfect way to start the 2011 wedding season.
Here are some of my favourites…
A huge thank you to Stephen and Alison for allowing me to be part of their magical day and their two wonderful children for making the day fun and a joy to be a part of. x
