Hello Autumn!
Last year I was contacted by the lovely Tijen around 6 weeks before her wedding! They had decided to book their wedding after a visit to the gorgeous Leez Priory on one of their open days and they fell in love. They booked the date just 10 weeks before and so the work began of planning a wedding in just 10 weeks! As their date was a weekday this made it a little easier to find suppliers that were free and although I was long since fully booked for the year when Tijen told me of their plans and that the day would be at the gorgeous Leez Priory I decided to add another one in for the year and jumped at the chance to capture it for them.
The day came and it was the perfect Autumnal day, blue skies and brilliant sunshine and Leez looked rather impressive as we arrived and gathered our equipment.
I met the ladies getting ready in some of their gorgeous rooms over looking the Tower. Drinking champagne and having their hair and makeup done the ladies were having a wonderful morning.
I then headed over to the boys for a few getting ready shots. If your groom is getting ready at the same venue this is perfect so I can nip across, get a few shots but still get back to the ladies for the dress going on. Ross’ surname is Beard and it became a bit of a theme of the day, the boys all grew awesome beards and were dressed like gents in bow ties and tweed!
The ceremony was the perfect English Fair tale as they married in the famous tower flooded with light from the huge windows. Even though it was October it was fairly warm and the guests mingled in the sunshine playing lawn games and having drinks and canapés while I captured their family shots.
We wanted to leave their couple shots as late as possible before their meal ( a great idea for Autumn weddings) so the sun would be as low and golden and we timed it perfectly as we arrived back to guests taking their seats 10 mins in to the meal the sun disappeared for good!
Their tables were named after places they had been in the Lakes, if I remember rightly where they got engaged (am I right Tijen and Ross, its been a year since and I have heard lots of engagement stories!?) After their fabulous speeches the party started with Ross and Tijen having their first dance outside on the lawn surrounded by candles and their guests with the castle behind them, it really shows it does not need to be summer to use the gorgeous outdoors!
They then headed in to the Cellar dance floor and the party really begun with a money pinning ceremony traditional to start them off in their married life (maybe every wedding should do this?!)
I adored this day, everything from the flowers to the cake to all the gorgeous details planned in just 10 weeks, it really shows you don’t need 2 years and that the little things really don’t matter.
So I share with you Ross and Tijen’s STUNNING wedding almost 1 year to the day, Happy Anniversary Ross & Tijen…
