On Saturday… after 33 weddings it was my final wedding of the year and my 34th! I limit the number of weddings I shoot usually to 30 per year but there were just a few I simply couldn’t say no to and this number rose to 34!
So, Jules and Vicky were my 34th and to be honest I can’t think of a more awesome wedding I could have ended my 2015 with. This wedding really did have it all, the weather, the location, the pretty church, the beautiful venue and a very gorgeous couple. But thats not actually what ‘makes’ a wedding.. .really I hear you cry, all that epic photogenic stuff?! – nope! Having shot well over 200 weddings I have learnt what really makes a wedding quite simply is the people. The awesome friends and family who make me feel like one of the party, the FUN, the incredible speeches, the magical moments that a wedding day is made up of… thousands of them. But more than anything what really makes a wedding for me is the couple, being in love, not being afraid to show it and the trust that they put in me to capture epic images for them. The trust that when I promise it will be worth nipping out for 10 mins between courses for some amazing golden hour light, or believing that venturing in to the darkest corner of the garden when its turned chilly with me will all be worth it… and Vicky and Jules were all of these things and more.
I could go on to describe the day, as it had some brilliant getting ready moments with her girls in the cottage as they all got beautified by Love Moi Makeup, that the boys did me proud for their getting ready shots, that they had the most beautiful ceremony complete with a LIKE fest that even the vicar got involved with (yes amazing, its below!), the gorgeous sunny drinks reception and photos, the seriously yummy meal and some of the most EPIC speeches I have ever heard (seriously the best men should win a prize!) and the crazy dancing that followed… I told you it really had it all! During every fun, touching, tearful, beautiful and sometimes crazy moment I captured a whole lot of memories that I know will be treasured for a looooong time!
So without further ado I give you my final favourite five moments for 2015…
