On Saturday I was back at the incredible Holkham Hall for George and Hannah’s big day!
A few weeks ago they travelled down to Norfolk from their home in Yorkshire for their engagement shoot and what a fantastic time we had. We were lucky enough to shoot this on the very beach where they got engaged and they brought their gorgeous dog Hugo along too {see their full shoot HERE}
I love engagement shoots as it really gives me a chance to get to know my couples before their day and we had the best time exploring the beach and paddling in the sea. They are both so much fun and so relaxed I knew their wedding day would be amazing.
So on Saturday I headed to the beautiful Burnham Market to capture Hannah getting ready with her little bridesmaids, niece, mum and sister in law (with her Dad and brother trying to steer clear of the chaos!) With hair by Gemma Holiday and Makeup by Melissa Abel Hannah looked incredible. She is the most beautiful girl anyway but with professional hair and makeup she looked like a film star!
She got into her one off Suzanne Neville dress with the help of her mum and had a wonderful ‘reveal’ to her dad who was patiently waiting outside the bedroom door.
After which Tom (Browns Films) and I headed over to Holkham to capture guests arriving and enjoying music by Carrie O’ Donnell and await Hannah’s arrival! It doesn’t seem to matter how many weddings I capture at Holkham, I am always so blown away by how incredible it is to get married somewhere this beautiful.
They had a lovely ceremony with three touching readings before walking down the stairs to clouds of confetti and into the sunshine as husband and wife. We captured their group shots at the front of the hall before the guests headed over to the Lady Elizabeth wing for drinks and canapés while George, Hannah, Tom and I nipped off for some couple shots in the grounds.
Back at the Lady Elizabeth wing I headed in to capture their table details and it looked so, so beautiful. With coloured table clothes, twinkling candles, flowers by Constance Rose and meal by Andy Parle and his team the guests were in for a real treat. They did their speeches before dinner so the guys could relax and they were all brilliant, laughter and tears in all the right places!
After dinner we nipped out to capture golden hour which was quickly fading behind some clouds, we had a few mins tho to get some wonderful images before it disappeared and these are some of my favourites of their day.
Back at the Hall they did their first dance before their dance floor filled up with their friends and family. They had a bit of a surprise for their guests and as it was reasonably early I decided to stay for it… we all headed down to the lawn and within a few mins the guests were treated to the most amazing firework display over the lake.
Giving Hannah and George a hug goodbye they couldn’t believe how fast their day had gone (all couples say this!) and I was genuinely sad to say goodbye…. this is defiantly one of those days I would love to capture all over again!
Here are my favourite five moments….
