I Do… Calum & Charlotte, at Home {Favourite Five Moments}

Sunday was my second wedding of two for the weekend and this was totally different to Saturdays wedding but equally special.

They chose to get married at Charlotte’s family home, a beautiful Old Rectory quite handily right next to the village church. A two min walk from the church and with a magnificent garden it made the ideal venue for their fun, relaxed wedding surrounded by their many friends and family and wow… what a wedding it was!

Calum is actually from the Cumbria (as am I) so all day I was surrounded by guests chatting away with an accent that quite simply made me feel like I was home. You don’t hear many Cumbrian’s in Norfolk and I think as the day went on my accent got stronger! After a long distance relationship Calum made the move to Norfolk to be with Charlotte and they haven’t looked back.

I headed to the Rectory and first met Charlotte’s Mum and Dad putting the finishing touches on the garden (which looked incredible). Charlotte was having her makeup done on the landing which was beautifully light and nice and calm as her girls were off having their hair done in a salon.

While Charlotte had her hair done I headed down to the boys who were getting ready at Charlotte and Calum’s home. They all looked amazing in their suits, especially Calum in his 3 piece (though it was a bit hot!) and we all headed into the garden for photos and a glass of champers.

Back with Charlotte it was time to get into her dress and WOW, I always think my brides look gorgeous but I think Charlotte looked like she was modelling the dress, she looked incredible! Sometimes I adore it when brides get ready ay their family home and in this case it was magical. THIS is the home Charlotte grew up in and this is the staircase she ran up and down a million times as a child, this is the home she moved out of to be with her husband… now she was about to walk down that staircase in the dress of her life to meet her Dad at the bottom… so special.

Charlotte her Dad and two bridesmaids walked to the church (I love this!) and as she walked down the aisle I think Calum was rather blown away. They had a lovely ceremony and one of their friends even read out a brilliant poem Calum had written for Charlotte which I think has to be one of the most romantic things I have ever heard at a wedding, even I had a tear in my eye!

After the ceremony we captured their family groups at church before heading back for drinks and canapés in the garden. Charlotte then opened a lovely gift from Calum, they had planned to go back to their home after the wedding that evening but Calum had booked them a beautiful hotel room as a surprise. A few more group shots in the garden we nipped off for a some couple shots just before they sat to eat.

After a wonderful meal catered by Trios Catering (Cake by Ellie’s cakery) they had their speeches which were brilliant… and included another awesome poem by Calum (this time a funny one!)

We nipped out for a few couple shots in the fields just before their first dance and even had a bit of fun with Charlotte’s Dad’s tractor (I’ll save those for later)

Huge thanks to Calum, Charlotte and all their family for making me feel so welcome. I had a brilliant day with you guys and can’t wait to share the rest. For now here are my favourite five moments…
