I LOVE doing styled shoots, they are an amazing opportunity to get together with other local suppliers and be creative! I have had the idea of a ‘Miss Havisham’ styled shoot since my Rule Britannia shoot a year and a half ago. Knowing it would take the perfect venue, would need to be Autumn and that I would have to source the ‘right’ suppliers it has simply taken me this long to arrange (along with much help from Emily).
Well the perfect venue was the amazing Narborough Hall owned by Joanne she was kind enough to loan it to us for the shoot as well as exclusive use of some of the more unknown areas of the house such as the rather spooky attics. Flamingo Amy was perfect for hair knowing huge amounts about every period of vintage hair she did an incredible job. Emily from Love Moi Makeup is always my makeup artist of choice and although creates the most beautiful wedding makeup she can also come up with the most amazing slightly more crazy looks for a shoot such as this. Jo Flowers was the perfect person to supply the stunning dried flowers and much of the table decoration along with some pieces from La Belle Amour they really made it feel like it had walked its way out of Satis House. The incredible dresses were loaned by the very talented wedding dress designer Sophie from Sophie & Smith who created some totally perfect pieces and the vintage dresses came from Vintage Deli. Hair pieces and beautiful hand made vintage jewellery came from Melissa Morgan Designs and Kelly from Eventiss created us the most perfect cake. Sadly on the day we were a model down but Sophie (from Sophie & Smith) stepped in and did an incredible job of being Miss Havisham as well as Kathryn as ‘Estella’ and Sarah whom we decided would be reading the book making the characters feel as though they had jumped from her imagination. I was lucky enough to be assisted by students Danielle and Fen who really did an great job of shooting behind the scenes, helping to create the ‘table’ and generally helping with ideas and quite a bit of carrying and fetching.
I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to all involved, it was amazing shoot and I couldn’t have done it without you all pitching in so fantastically! The rest of the shots I cannot wait to get started on but for now as promised here is our slightly bleak Great Expectations Shoot…..
Many, many more to come…..
Wow! This is so creative and hauntingly beautiful! Well done to all involved, these are so atmospheric!
