I Do… Jamie & Emma, Chaucer Barn {Favourite Five Moments}

Saturday was my first full day wedding of 2019 and what a way to start! Back at one of my all time favourite venues the stunning Chaucer Barn it was Jamie and Emma’s turn to say I do.

Jamie and Emma have been in the midst of relocation and Emma has actually moved down south from Edinburgh just last week! She said she was more nervous about getting the move done than she was about the wedding day and I have to say she did seem like one super relaxed bride.

I arrived as the girls were getting ready in the morning, sipping champagne in their matching PJ’s and generally getting very excited for the day. Over with the boys Jamie and his best man Tony were ‘almost’ ready to get ready! We had a giggle as Jamie got into his military uniform and Tony into a beautiful tweed suit and they both looked amazing. I have to say I love a military uniform on a wedding day, not only do they look so special but it’s such a proud moment to see men in their uniforms not least because Jamie has actually been awarded an incredible 9 medals in the last 24 years of service and was able to wear 7 of them on the day.

They had chosen to get married in the woodland but despite a lovely dry day and even a little sunshine it was a little chilly for all the guests to walk across the fields. Instead they opted for an outdoor ceremony on the lawn which is actually one of my favourite spots as I shoot back toward the barn which makes the most wonderful backdrop. I love the shot below of Jamie… his best man had just whispered ‘she looks amazing’ and Jamie had wiped what was ‘I think’ a little tear before looking upwards to keep the rest at bay!

After their ceremony we did a full group shot and the guests all grabbed drinks and canapés by the wonderful Back to your Place before we started on their smaller group photos. They had plenty of time to mingle with guests before we nipped out for their couple shots in the beautiful grounds.

The pink sitting room was dressed wonderfully with the flowers by Emma’s very talented mum and props from the wonderful Little Lending Company.

As their meal and speeches ended the sun had set and everyone started to get ready for their cake cut and first dance before the dance floor filled up and I left them boogying the night away!

Here are my favourite five moments from their gorgeous day…
