Goodness this year is going fast and as usual I can’t keep up with my blogging! I usually like to blog around my couples wedding anniversary but this one is late! Even so I have been really excited to share this gorgeous wedding which was also featured on the fabulous Rock My Wedding – read about that HERE.
Throughout summer I try to block out a couple of weekends off where I can as the life of a wedding photographer in the season can be rather full on! As I was fully booked for the year I decided to block out the weekend of the 8th August for some down time… then Aneliese got in touch! When she told me about her wedding at Narborough Hall I felt I just had to meet them… on meeting them, hearing more about their day and the fact they were the loveliest couple ever I quickly forgot about my weekend off and I was glad I did!
When I arrived Aneliese, her 5 bridesmaids and flower girl were all having breakfast in the gorgeous house kitchen. I headed upstairs to shoot her stunning details in the ‘beauty room’ before the girls headed back up to start hair and makeup! With 6 ladies, a little lady, hair dresser, makeup artist and me all in 1 room it can get a little crowded on wedding mornings but Narborough has the most incredible huge room with big windows that couldn’t be more perfect to accommodate lots of very excited ladies!
I then headed down to the gents getting ready in the sunshine in the cottages at the back of the hall and got some awesome shots of them getting in to their leather braces, bow ties and jackets.
Back with the ladies Aneliese put her dress on surrounded by all her bridesmaids and she looked totally breathtaking! Dad came in to have an unveil and looked so proud he even brought a tear to my eye.
They had opted for an outdoor ceremony in front of the lake under the willow arch trimmed with flowers and with a bright blue sky it couldn’t have been more perfect. As they headed up the aisle and in to the house to complete the legal part of the ceremony Rick punched the air and looked pretty pleased to have at last married his girl!
After the legal part they headed outside to be showered with confetti which as always is one of my favourite moments of a wedding day! After their group photos they had a singer and pianist play to the guests who enjoyed drinks, canapés and the beautiful grounds for a couple of hours before being called to the meal. They decided to have their speeches before their meal so they could all relax and enjoy the food and there were lots of laughs!
Once the meal was finished the guests had more time to play lawn games, have boat rides in the rowing boat and enjoy the band again before the evening party started. They even did a ‘boys against girls tug of war’ which was so much fun! Rick, Aneliese and I headed off for a few more shots as the sun set and walked round the lake to their favourite spot looking back at the hall. While they were sitting their Aneliese got quite emotional watching their guests having fun, hearing the sounds of laughter and cuddling up to Rick as the evening drew in on their perfect day. This I think was my favourite moment of the day, as they sat cuddled up realising that the months of planning had all come together to make the best day of their lives.
The party started with a bang and a VERY full rather crazy dance floor. Rick and Aneliese have some seriously fun friends and I left them all dancing the night away!
Here are a few of my favourites from their beautiful, sunny, relaxed wedding….
