Last Wednesday I headed to the gorgeous Southwood Hall for the first time this year. Last year I had Vicky and Oli’s amazing wedding there with some pretty epic weather so I was hoping for the same again… and we got it!
I headed to Kat and oodles of beautiful bridesmaids getting ready at the Cartshed Lodge. With Leanna from Love Moi Makeup on makeup and Flamingo Amy on hair the ladies were looking stunning… in fact I think Kat would have been hard pushed to have found a more beautiful group of girls to help her get married!
The nice thing about Southwood is that usually the boys also get ready on site so I was able to nip over to the guys to get a few shots of them getting ready too. It was a crazy hot day so I did feel for them in their 3 piece suits but with promises they could remove jackets after the pics and shorts to change into later they braved the crazy heat! They opened gifts, the boys including brilliant coloured socks and matching sunnies and Lloyd opened the most gorgeous antique pocket watch from Kat that complimented his tweed waistcoat beautifully.
Back over with the ladies it was time for Kat to get into her dress and WOW…. I have to say I have had some truly epic dresses this year and I really feel like brides are going for something ‘different’ and Kat was no exception. It fitted her like a glove and it was just the perfect amount of glam. Not the lace gown we all (including her) expected to go for but wow, 10 times better!
We had an unveil to her dad and her gorgeous girls who were all blown away before it was time to walk across to the barn for their outdoor ceremony. Safe to say Lloyd looked suitably impressed as she was walked up the aisle by her super proud dad.
They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the sunshine before they walked back down the aisle (Lloyd almost loosing the wedding certificate!) before it was time for confetti and their group photos.
They had arranged for their pooch Nelson to come to the barn for an hour for a few photos and so we snuck off for some pics with him before their family groups. After which I captured their tables before heading off for a few more couple shots in the pretty side gardens.
Their speeches were before the meal which were just brilliant. Kat’s brother gave a brilliant speech that was really funny and very touching for a big brother, Lloyd did a fantastic job and his brother (the best man) had the room in stitches with his powerpoint speech and photos!
After a fabulous 3 course meal (Southwood never disappoints us!) they had plenty of time to mill around in the gardens with their guests before we snuck off for some golden hour shots just before their first dance.
As always we left as the pizza que got long and the sun had set and I was sad to see the end of another incredible wedding.
I am feeling so so lucky this year to be capturing so many amazing days… here are my favourite five moments…
