Another weekend and another fabulous wedding, this time it was Katie and Gary’s turn to become Mr & Mrs Heed!
I had actually first met Katie and Gary at Lucy and Tim’s wedding back in 2013 (where does the time go!) when they had been together around a year and a half. THEN Katie was bridesmaid for one of my 2015 weddings for the lovely Julie and Matthew so heading to capture their wedding on Saturday just felt like it was meant to be and I couldn’t wait.
I headed over to Katie first to capture her getting ready with her lovely bridesmaid Karen who is also the talented wedding stationary designer Karen Barkell Designs. They were being made to look stunning by Katie’s lovely sister in law Gemma doing hair and the fabulous Emily from Love Moi Makeup.
The boys were over getting the venue ready and I have to say it looked incredible. Katie is a primary school teacher and Gary a carpenter which seems to be the perfect mix for making and designing the most fabulous wedding details!
As Katie got into her full lace dress she looked breathtaking and her stepdad couldn’t have looked more proud as he walked her down the aisle. They had a beautiful ceremony with readings from friends and as they headed back down the aisle both grinning from ear to ear I don’t think they could have been happier!
The afternoon went super quickly with confetti, drinks, canapés and group shots and we just had enough time for a few couple shots before they sat to eat. After the meal were the speeches by Katie’s stepdad, Gary, the best man Heedy who all got us singing a Hymn (one of the funniest speeches I have heard in a long time!) and Katie who read Gary some advice for ‘how to be a good husband from her students’ which were just brilliant!
After dinner we headed out to a local field for some shots with the hay bales which was one of my favourite parts of the day and then came back in time for their first dance which was beautifully choreographed and sung by the awesome Lee Vann.
It was wonderful to catch up with my couples Tim & Lucy and Matt & Julie who have both since had families and I can only hope in a few years I see Gary & Katie again at another wedding!
Thanks for a wonderful day guys, here are my favourite five moments…
Utterly stunning. I’m doing my first paid wedding photography job this weekend and I only hope I can do the couple justice, just like you have with these stunning shots. Always an inspiration.
