Holkham Hall is one of the UK’s most epic wedding venues and I have to say I feel rather lucky that its right here in gorgeous Norfolk. Its impressive and Grand and you can’t help but say ‘wow’ as you step into the incredible Marble Hall.
Well this is where Will and Sophie chose to get married and their wedding day was a real fairytale. Sophie had the most incredible dress with the longest train I have ever seen and with the sparkly bodice and her tiara she looked like a real princess.
I met the girls first getting ready in the beautiful rooms at the Victoria with all her bridesmaids and makeup by the fabulous Michelle Bennett. I then headed to the gents getting into their tales over at the main part of the pub where we even managed to have a quick pint (them not me!) before I headed back to capture Sophie getting into her dress. Sophie is super smiley and I think grinned from ear to ear all day, together they are just the sweetest, warmest couple you could meet and Mike from Capture Media, Cara and I had the most fun day with them.
Up at the Hall the guests were arriving with little pageboys and flower girls running round entertaining the guests. The bridesmaids arrived in their incredible sequinned gowns followed by Sophie in the stunning vintage car. They had a beautiful ceremony on the steps at the marble hall and then headed up for drinks and canapés by the awesome Tris from Julie Abbs Catering in the Saloon. After which we did a few shots with their car, they went for a drive before coming back to the Hall ready for confetti on the stairs. As the guests headed over to the Lady Elizabeth wing we held back and got some gorgeous shots of them in the hall itself before following the guests round just in time to be seated.
They had some brilliant speeches between courses, and a rather delicious meal (Tris Abb’s does it every time!) After which we snuck out for a few more couple shots and even a very sneaky little bit of golden hour over the lake.
Just before their first dance we did some gorgeous twilight sparkler shots, Sophie is actually afraid of fire but Will is a fireman so they make a pretty perfect match! We finished the evening with their rather epic choreographed first dance and some fabulous dance floor shots!
Huge congratulations to the super lovely Will and Sophie, thank you for making us part of your wonderful day. Here are my favourite five moments… though I have at least 500 faves!
