That Friday Feeling… {St Giles House Hotel}

For this weeks Friday inspiration post I wanted to introduce you to the simply beautiful St Giles House Hotel in Norwich. The hotel is a bit of a hidden gem and although in the centre of Norwich it is concealed up a lovely side street behind  the most incredible facade.

I have had the pleasure of shooting two weddings at the venue both of which I thoroughly enjoyed and got two rather different sets of images from. The main areas of the hotel are made up of a stunning chic restaurant and bar, a sumptuous wood paneled lounge, an impressive entrance lobby, a breathtaking staircase leading to the stunning licensed upstairs ceremony room with incredible chandelier and a further bar.

The bedrooms are all luxurious and comfortable and full of the most fabulous antique furniture perfect for detail shots on your wedding day.  I have also shot two boudoir shots at the venue in their rather famous bridal suite, room 16, a suite of bedroom, lounge and bathroom with roll top bath ideal for elegant and fun boudoir images.

The main ceremony room is large and spread across the front of the building with the most stunning floor to ceiling window flooding light in to the otherwise dark wood paneled room. With a beautiful ornate ceiling, incredible chandelier and two fireplaces, it feels elegant, chic and oozing quality, history and drama.  The layout of the upstairs ceremony room and next door bar allows evening guests to join in with the dancing or sit and chat with a glass of wine in the cozy armchairs of the bar.

Group shots are perfect taken on the terrace with its warm peach coloured painted brick walls and bay trees or in front of the grand columned entrance door. For your couple shots there is an array of possibilities throughout the hotel or the most beautiful backdrop of cobbles, characterful shops and old doorways around the little backstreets surrounding the venue.

Despite the impressive interior and exterior St Giles House Hotel feels cozy, warm and friendly. I have also had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant twice and have found the food and service to be fantastic and with the spa downstairs why not do your research by spending the night?

To talk about your wedding plans please contact the hotel manager Jenna who will be more than happy to help.

I have added a few images below of some of my favourite areas of the hotel from the various weddings but to see a full wedding shot at St Giles see HERE.

All images below from recent weddings, chosen for this post to show off the interior and exterior of the hotel.

A huge thank you to Jenna who has added me to their gallery of recommended suppliers.
