Vicky and Oliver won the recent Facebook competition I ran to win a couple shoot and last night we met up at sunset to capture some gorgeous engagement images of the two of them. Vicky and Oliver have actually booked me for their wedding in 2017, which I am really excited about but the reason I picked them to win the competition is for Vicky’s amazing entry.

Vicky is actually an extremely talented cyclist and was working towards the Rio Olympics, sadly she was involved in a really bad cycling accident and had to spend 4 weeks lying flat on her back whist recovering from breaks in her back, neck and pelvis. I knew all this because I follow her on instagram and had also read her really interesting blog which you can see HERE.

In her entry to my competition she mentioned she had had an accident but it struck me that she could have gone to town with reasons why after all she had been through they deserved the shoot.  I read a little more of her blog and discovered that Vicky is one of the most positive, determined ladies I have ever come across and her positivity and will to overcome her accident was overwhelming.

On meeting them yesterday evening I couldn’t have hoped for a lovelier couple to win. Oliver, just as deserving as Vicky went to see her every day in hospital and even stayed over every other night by her side. He looked after her during the shoot helping her off some logs and making sure she didn’t hurt herself. Not that she really needed it, Vicky is a powerhouse of independence and is now back working towards her training and competing, at just 22 I know she has an amazing future and with their marriage in 12 months time I know Ollie will be with her all the way.

It was amazing to meet you both at last and I can’t wait to capture your wedding!
