I Do… Michael & Sophie {Elms Barn}

This time of year my wedding are starting to wind down a little and I have a little time to breathe and enjoy the very last ones of the season.

Its been around 18 months since I shot at Elms Barn and that was a beautiful Spring wedding. It has though been years since I shot at Autumn wedding at Elms Barn and I remember how incredible the gardens are in the autumn so I was super excited!

Sophie was getting ready in the gorgeous Stackyard Lodge with her EIGHT bridesmaids and as you can imagine it was a very fun morning! Sophie is one of the most relaxed brides I have met, she did her own makeup and chose one of her good friends (also a hairdresser) to do her hair.

She had chosen a wonderful simple high neck silk gown more like an evening dress than a ‘wedding dress’ but it had the most stunning back and was light and so easy to wear.

I headed over to the boys who were a little less organised than the girls but I had lots of fun capturing them getting ready and helping each other into their suits.

Back with the girls it was time for Sophie to put on her stunning dress with the help of her mum and then she had a reveal with dad and then all eight bridesmaids who were blow away how stunning she looked.

Over at the ceremony guests were arriving and taking their seats as the car did several trips for the bridesmaids and eventually Sophie and her dad. They had one of the most brilliant ceremonies of the year so far with registrar Malcolm who is really funny and makes every ceremony he performs really individual. They also had 2 beautiful readings before walking back down the aisle and out into the marquee.

They headed out into the gardens while we got the guests outside and lined up ready for a brilliant confetti shot before heading round to the gardens for group photos drinks and canapés.

They had a little time with their guests before we nipped off for some couple shots round the gorgeous autumnal grounds and then they sat for a wonderful three course meal.

After dinner it was time for speeches and I know I say this a lot but their speeches were brilliant, especially Michael’s brothers (one of whom was best man) who did a little medley of songs adapted to be all about Michael and Sophie, they had everyone in stitches one min and tears the next!

We nipped out for some sparkler shots before heading back inside for their gorgeous first dance.

Huge thank you to Elms Barn for looking after me as well as Michael and Sophie and especially their brilliant bridesmaids and groomsmen who I had the best time with!

I have lots of gorgeous shots from this autumn wedding but for now, here are my favourite five moments…
