Saturday was the Ruben and Jess’ turn to get married! I couldn’t wait for this awesome couples day, we had had SO much fun on their engagement shoot I knew the wedding would be a dream. Last year I shot their best friends Lydia and Matt’s wedding and Ruben and Jess were on countdown to their day. I had such a fun day with all of them I really couldn’t wait for their wedding to come round. Lydia was bridesmaid and Matt best man, as Jess and Ruben both had been at their day last year.
I have also been really excited to shoot at the beautiful Hales Hall Great Barn and I was totally blown away by how gorgeous it was. We arrived in the morning to the ladies having their makeup done by the fab Love Moi Makeup and hair made to look beautiful in one of the gorgeous little cottages at Hales Hall. The morning was rather wet but we were all keeping the faith that it would get out fine.
At the other end of the building was the beautiful gate house and this is where the gents were getting ready. Both Jess and Ruben had bought lots of thoughtful gifts for each other so we had present opening, both with a few tears and lots of laughter.
As Jess stepped out of the cottage to head to the ceremony the sun came out and didn’t really disappear again for the rest of the day. They had a beautiful ceremony in the barn and one of my favourite images below is Jess looking up at Ruben as though there was no one else in the room.
After the ceremony we had some rather awesome confetti throwing and drinks, canapés and lawn games in the beautiful gardens while we got their group photos and a few couple shots in the secret garden.
We were treated to the most gorgeous wedding meal and the team at The Great Barn looked after us like queens! After some fab speeches the sun became low and golden so we snuck out for a few more images just before the first dance in the beautiful golden light.
Below are my favourite 5 but to be honest I had hundreds of favourites so it was tricky to pick! I loved the moment Jess came down the stairs to show her Dad her dress, surrounded by her lovely mum, dad and gorgeous bridesmaids just minutes before she became a Mrs was such a special moment that I had to include!
This gorgeous wedding was also filmed by the awesome Studio 1208, I can’t wait to see their film!
For now here are my favourite five moments….
Huge thank you to all Ruben’s lovely friends and family for making us feel so welcome, Matt and Lydia for being a huge help to organise, the team at the barn for being awesome to work with and to Heather for assisting as always! I can’t wait to share the rest in a few weeks time!
