I Do… Mike & Laura, Norfolk Mead {Favourite Five Moments}

A couple of weeks ago Laura had been a little worried about the long term weather forecast for her wedding day at the gorgeous Norfolk Mead on Saturday… well she need not have worried at all, one of the hottest weddings I have ever shot and amazing sunshine all day, it couldn’t have been more gorgeous!

I arrived early to the ladies getting ready. The amazing Emily from Love Moi Makeup was working her magic and Tracey from Tracey Ward hair was making everyone look beautiful. I then headed over to the boys who arrived at the Mead to get in to their ties and waistcoats in one of the lounges at the hotel. They had opted for waistcoats rather than jackets which is such a good idea for a summer wedding and with the crazy heat I think they were all pretty thrilled that decision had been made!

Laura got in to her beautiful lace gown with stunning veil and one of the most unusual and beautiful bespoke hair pieces I have seen made by the awesome Melissa Morgan Designs. She headed downstairs to meet Dad so he could see her in her dress and there were a few tears! They had a gorgeous ceremony in the Mead’s beautiful garden room, with the walls made of glass its pretty much a photographers dream. After the ceremony we got some fab confetti shots with the big blue sky and then their group photos in the only patch of shade I could find!

They all sat down to eat and did their speeches before the meal so that the gents could all relax and enjoy the food.  During Mike’s speech he got a little emotional talking about his family so Laura stood up and helped with this part of the speech. I just loved this moment, with the big ‘Just married’ banner behind them, Laura’s sister and Mikes twin brother at the sides it was such a poignant shot and to me shows what marriage is all about – team work and support. This had to be one of my favourite five.

They had quite an early ceremony and meal so Laura and Mike has a singer before the meal and a band play after the meal. We headed off for 2 short sets of couple shots after the meal as they had a large gap before the first dance and got some beautiful shots in the grounds with the willow trees and down by the river with their giant balloons.

During their band Laura and her lovely nanny got up and had a dance on the lawn together. I just loved this spontaneous moment and I know that it will be images like this that my couples will really treasure forever.

I have as usual struggled to pick my favourite five as there were so many wonderful moments. However these are the few that stood out to me from such a happy, beautiful, sunny and relaxed wedding day…
