I Do… Jamie & Katie, Pentney Abbey {favourite Five Moments}

Saturday was my second wedding of the year, it was Jamie and Katie’s big day and I couldn’t wait! Since meeting them over a year ago I have been excited about their wedding. They have only been together 3 years and are just the sweetest couple and so obviously very in love. Katie is one of the sweetest souls I have met, the first thing she said when I arrived was ‘where’s your gorgeous daughter!’ The day of course is always about the bride (and groom a little) but Katie doesn’t make anything about herself and all she and Jamie wanted was to have the best day ever and I really think they did!

I headed to the boys first who were getting ready at Katie and Jamie’s beautiful home. The boys were such good fun and we got some fab shots of them all getting ready for the day. Katie had even made cupcakes for everyone!

We then headed to the girls who were getting ready at Katie’s parents house. Wendy and Robert could not have been more inviting, offering us drinks and food when we arrived and making sure we had everything we needed while rushing around getting themselves ready. The girls were having a lovely morning having their hair and makeup done and the excitement really ramped up a notch when the little flower girls arrived. Sometimes its really special getting ready at your parents, Robert and Wendy had moved here when Katie was very little so getting into your dress in your childhood home is all kinds of magical. Katie’s mum helped her into her dress and Katie didn’t stop grinning, she looked incredible and Robert couldn’t have looked more proud as she walked down the stairs.

We headed to the church where the boys were greeting guests who were filing in and taking their seats. Robert helped a very excited Katie out the car and they walked up to the church behind the bridesmaids. Its safe to say Jamie looked pretty chuffed as he turned briefly to see Katie, you can’t see it on the photos but he bit his lip and shook his head side to side as if he couldn’t quite believe how lucky he was!

They had a beautiful ceremony and then exited under Jamie’s team hockey sticks and then to clouds of confetti as they walked down the church path. We had a little time to do their group shots at church before they were waved off by their guests back to Pentney Abbey.

It was my first time shooting at Pentney Abbey and it did not disappoint, what an incredible building! It is also surrounded by beautiful fields and countryside and has the most stunning barn perfectly set up for your wedding breakfast and first dance. We captured a few shots with their beautiful car before it headed off and then they had some time with their guests before they were seated and we captured another set of couple shots. They did the speeches as soon as they sat down so the boys could then relax and enjoy the meal. I remember telling the best man Jimmy but I think I forgot to tell Robert and Jamie how great their speeches were. Touching with just the right amount of funny (and Jimmy’s was hilarious!)

After their meal we headed out for their second set of couple shots and even got to shoot inside the beautiful Abbey itself (and get a little lost!) before we headed back for their awesome first dance. The dance floor filled up and just before we left I spotted a beautiful sunset across the fields.  Jamie and Katie rushed out to capture it but sadly it went pretty fast so we had a little fun with some lighting and the front of the Abbey instead!

Huge thanks to Jamie and Katie for being so much FUN (they asked a few times if they were a difficult couple, I never have difficult couples but these guys couldn’t have been further from it!) Thank you to Jaymi and the Pentney team for looking after us and working so well for us for photos and big thanks to Amy for assisting on the day.

Here are just 5 of my favourite moments…
