I Do… Charlie & Vickie, The Great Barn, Hales Hall {Favourite Five Moments}

So my wedding season started with a bang on Wednesday! I was lucky enough to be back shooting at the stunning Great Barn at Hales Hall and it was Charlie and Vickie’s big day.

I knew leaving my little Robyn for the first time for a 14 hour day would be a little hard but as soon as I arrived and started shooting I was back in my element and loved every moment. When I arrived Charlie greeted me with the biggest smile and was clearly incredibly excited about the day. The ladies were getting ready in one of the beautiful bedrooms at the hall and looked beautiful with hair by the awesome Flamingo Amy and makeup by the fabulous Emily from Love Moi Makeup.

Vickie has been working hard to get in great shape for the wedding and I have to say she looked totally stunning. Her figure hugging dress with the most beautiful detailed bodice and sleeves was just beautiful on her and her veil finished things off perfectly (although we did have a few wind problems!)

I think we all had tears in our eyes as she greeted her dad at the bottom of the staircase and he looked so proud as he walked her across the gardens and up the aisle. Samantha Powell had done a beautiful job of making the venue look wonderful and it was full of flowers and beautiful swags of foliage down the aisles.

Civil ceremonies are often quite quick but I have to say this one was a little different. Their registrar was great fun and made everyone laugh at many an interval through the ceremony, they had a beautiful reading from Grandma and Charlie’s mum did a traditional hand tie reading. Charlie and Vickie also did their own vows which I have to say were really moving and made the ceremony really personal.

We headed outside for a very windy confetti shot followed by their group photos and couple shots in the grounds. After an amazing meal which included chips (there is never chips at weddings brownie points from me!) they had the speeches. Vickie’s dad’s was really touching, Charlie said all the right things and the best men had everyone laughing, just as they should be!

We had time for a few more shots outside just as the light was going before their cake cut and beautiful first dance.

Such a fabulous start to my 2018 wedding season, huge thank you to all the staff at Hales Hall and Charlie and Vickie for being great fun. Also to Heather for doing a wonderful job of assisting as always!

Here are my favourite five moments…
